SI system of units was introduced in 1960 after being approved on Eleventh General Conference on Weights and Measurement so that uniformity in measurement can be brought all over the world. Some of its significances are as listed below.
1. uyse of SI units in measurement brings uniformity and similarity in measurement all over the world.
2. If has solved and eliminated the problems in carrying out different scientific experiments.
3. It has accompanied and supported the whole world to be treated as a single global marked for trade and commerce.
4. SI units can be used to express different fundamental as well as derived units.
5. The multiplies and sub-multiples of SI unit can be expressed in terms of power of 10 or in scientific notation.
