Administration Course: Career in Australia

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in , , , , , , , , , ,

The art of being organized is a valuable skill that will help you not only in life, but also in your career. In fact, there’s a whole profession centered around organization – it’s called administration.

Administrative roles are designed to keep order and direction within a range of business settings. Administrators are involved at all levels of an organization, from receptionists and data entry clerks right up to office managers and executive assistants who act as the 2IC to CEOs and managing directors.

According to French mining engineer Henri Fayol, who developed a general theory of business administration, administrative practice can be segmented into five elements: planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling and budgeting.

The staffing element relates to human resources, which includes recruiting and inducting staff, maintaining a safe workplace, industrial relations, and ensuring that workplace relationships are positive and constructive.

The planning, organizing and controlling elements lie at the core of every administrative role. The responsibilities of an office manager or administrator may include managing meetings and conference calls, planning and reviewing administrative systems, managing payroll and keeping the business stocked and supplied. Studying business administration allows you to get training in all these functions, covering key areas such as MYOB, information technology and occupational health and safety.

Budgeting – the fifth element of administration – is vital to any business or project, and keeping this on track is paramount. Administrators therefore need a head for numbers, and studying the basics of accounting and bookkeeping will enable them to keep a tight rein on expenses and record-keeping.

So if you are highly organized with excellent communication skills, consider a career in administration. And if you like to be time-efficient, you’ll love the convenience of studying your administration course

Study Arts- Career in Australia

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in , , , , , ,

‘Culture’ is a broad concept that encapsulates the arts and other expressions of human intellectual endeavour. And there’s no better way to learn about and acquire culture, than by studying an arts course.

Studying arts is not confined to learning about paintings and sculptures, as the arts cover so much more. They include fine arts but also encompass studies in the humanities such as languages, literature, communications, history, philosophy and the performing arts.

An arts degree offers an ideal foundation for a range of career options and outcomes. You will cover a broad educational base, choosing a major area of study as you continue your degree. These majors can include art history, English, international studies, history, political science, sociology, psychology, philosophy and theology.

With an arts qualification, you will gain invaluable skills in critical thinking, analysis and writing – essential training that can be applied to any business or industry. The flexibility of an arts degree allows for you to follow your passion and study the subjects you’re interested in without limiting your professional opportunities. You could work in government or in the business sector, in the media or in the arts and culture sector itself.

As Jim Leach, former member of the US House of Representatives said, ‘Our culture is more shaped by the arts and humanities than it often is by politics’.

So if you want to become more cultured, you can help shape your mind with our arts and humanities courses today.

Your Nursing Career - Abroad Study@Australia 2014

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

‘Save one life, you’re a hero. Save 100 lives, you’re a nurse.’

The doctors get all the attention in TV shows like ER, Scrubs and House, but as anyone in a hospital knows, it’s the nurses who provide the glue to any health environment.

And it’s a rich field with many different niches.

From Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to Enrolled Nurses (ENs), Registered Nurses (RNs) and midwives, the further you go, the more jobs seem to open up.

If you’re wondering how to become a registered nurse, the best way to start is by completing a Bachelor of Nursing – usually a three-year degree, including clinical placements where you get practical experience.

Once you’ve got your nursing degree, you can take it practically anywhere. Here are just a few of your many options.

Nurse practitioner

Nurse practitioners are basically flexible and knowledgeable RNs. By taking a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) course, you’ll build on your clinical nursing skills by studying pharmacotherapeutics, modern nursing issues and research methods.

You’ll also gain the leadership skills to pursue senior clinical nursing roles and jobs in nursing research or educational settings.

Mental health nursing

The mental health sector is growing fast. RNs looking for a specialised role in this vital field can take the Master of Mental Health Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) program to sharpen their skills in acute care, clinical assessment, psychosocial intervention and health research methods.

Midwifery

If you’re a qualified midwife seeking a leadership, educational or clinical consultancy role, you need look no further than the Master of Midwifery.

While engaging with contemporary theory and practice, you can tailor your studies to your needs through subjects covering advanced clinical practice, management and health research, and keep those babies coming.

Gerontology

With an increasingly older population comes a greater strain on aged care services, and a heavier demand for specialist health professionals.

With a Master of Gerontology, you can build on your existing qualifications to support the health and wellbeing of older people. It’s a great way to open up further roles in policy, aged care or human services.

Your professional development doesn’t have to end once you become an RN or midwife.

TOP 10 COURSE OPTIONS IN USA

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in , , , , , , ,

The courses that are offered by universities in United States and that are popular among International Students.

If you're currently pondering on subject to chose as your major or even if you're just curious about what tomorrow's global job applicants are majoring in today, here's a top 10 list of course options in USA for you.

Business Administration and Management
This major offers training in accounting, finance, marketing, economics, human resources, and decision-making. You'll learn to budget, organize, plan, hire, direct, control, and manage an organization. You'll find more chances for career growth if you go on to earn your MBA.

Psychology
Psychology is the study of the way humans and animals interact and respond to their environment. In essence, it's the study of behaviour and the thoughts behind it. Just don't expect that four years of college will get you a private practice where people lie on a couch and tell you their troubles for $95/hour. You'll need an extra five to seven years of schooling and a PhD before that will happen.

Elementary education
From tracing a little hand on coloured paper to help in making cookies and to taking a field trip to the local science center with your fourth-graders to learn about static electricity, you are excited about working in a grade school and shaping young minds before they develop the attitude. Some college programmes offer an area of specialization, such as early childhood, language arts, or mathematics.

Biology
Biology majors focus on the living world--that's everything from single-cell bacteria to whales. You may take classes in which you learn about calculus, microbiology, cell biology, genetics, evolution, physics, and organic chemistry. In addition to being a stepping-stone for medical school, biology major can lead to a job in the field such as genetics, biotechnology, or medical research. Veterinarians, optometrists, ecologists, biochemists, and environmentalists all may have majored in biology.

Nursing
Generally, nurses help people meet basic health needs, adapt to physical changes, recover from illness, and die with dignity. They are employed in clinics, hospitals, schools, corporations, the military, and in private practice. We need nurses now more that ever and job prospects in this field are bright. If you major in nursing, you'll take traditional science and liberal arts courses as a first-year student and probably begin clinical rotations at hospitals and other health care facilities during the second semester of your sophomore year.

Education
Although much of your coursework will be general education material, most laces require you to choose a specific grade level you'd like to teach. Choices usually include some variation of early childhood education (Preschool), primary education (kinder-garden through twelfth grade). Some education majors choose to specialize in special education. Your student teaching experience, in which you spend a semester or more in gaining practical experience in a classroom, will be in the field of your choice.

English
You'll find English majors in countless types of jobs. Many of them are communications-based careers as you'd expect-author, reporter, journalist, editor, radio broadcaster, advertising and public relations executives--but plenty of them aren't that obvious. English majors also become teachers, lawyers (after law school, of course), film directors, politicians, actors, you name it. English majors become well-rounded, well-read individuals who have studies life in words across the globe.

Communications
In this programme, students learn how certain messages influence individual and group behaviour. You'll spend a significant amount of time studying different kinds of speaking and writing and strategies people use to make their points. You'll take a look at verbal and nonverbal messages, audience reaction, and the varied effects of different communication environments. Communication theory will play a part too, as you delve into speeches, revolutionary political campaigns, radical social movements, and the trends in news reporting. With your degree, you may choose to pursue a career in business, public relations, advertising, human resources, government, education, media, or social services.

Computer Science
Your friends are always coming to you for help when they experience computer problems, and you know it's high time you got paid for your efforts. Solution: obtain a degree in Computer Science. In this programme, you'll focus on how computer technology can be applied to any number of fields.

Included will be classes on how to develop business applications, perform system analysis, and the process of developing software (from designing to programming to testing). Programmes may also include instruction in robotics, natural language recognition programmes, artificial intelligence, programming languages and numerical analysis. The knowledge you gain from a Computer Science major is absolutely applicable to the real world, and to real jobs within it.undefined

STUDYING CIVIL ENGINEERING IN THE UK

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in , , , , ,

British universities offer a wide range of degree and higher diploma courses in Civil Engineering and related areas, such as Construction Management and Structural Engineering.

Most B.Eng. and M.Eng. courses are accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators, representing the relevant professional engineering institutions (Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers). Successful completion of these accredited courses gives exemption from the academic examinations leading to Chartered Engineer status. Construction Management courses are frequently accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building. Similarly, a higher diploma (HND) will lead to Incorporated Engineer status, or may be accepted for progression to a degree course, often with exemption from at least one year of study.

The U.K. professional bodies are recognized around the World and accredited U.K. degrees are accepted for entry to the engineering professions in most countries. A U.K. degree therefore provides a global passport to a rewarding professional career in civil engineering. The demand for qualified civil engineers and construction managers is very strong, and in many parts of the world, the salaries offered to young construction professionals are amongst the highest of any graduate group. They may be involved in a very wide range of projects, ranging from highways, railways, bridges and tunnels, through to the responsibility for the structure and foundations of major buildings, dams, water supply, irrigation and public health schemes, and many more too numerous to list. Because of its role in the design, construction and operation of the major infrastructure systems on which society depends, the industry provides an exciting, challenging, satisfying and fulfilling career.

The range of courses offered in U.K. is very broad. Some universities offer courses in engineering science, which may involve general study of all areas of engineering for the first two years, followed by specialization in later years. Others offer courses that are specific to civil engineering throughout. These normally entail three years of study for a B.Eng. and four years for an M.Eng. Some universities also offer "sandwich courses" which incorporate a year of structured and supervised professional training in the industry in addition to the academic study. The range, style and emphasis of course provision in different universities varies widely, from those with a strong emphasis on basic theory through to courses with more emphasis on engineering and construction management practice. Potential students should therefore find out as much as possible about the style of each course so that they apply for those which suit their interests and career aspirations.

Some Universities, offer a range of interlinked courses at HND and degree level. These cover civil engineering, structural design and construction management, whilst others may focus on only one degree course. A coordinated program of courses allows students to progress from HND to degree level study and to change the emphasis of their study should they wish to do so. I am a strong advocate of the sandwich course and the University of Teesside, for example, provides good support for students to find them salaried sandwich training placements in U.K. and overseas and monitor their professional development during the placement. The benefits of such placements include increased commitment to final year studies, resulting in improved degree classifications, and enhanced employment prospects at the end of the course. In these days of tight student budgets, the income earned during the year also helps to ease the financial pressures during final year.

Thus the U.K. has a great deal to offer potential students in civil engineering and other construction related areas. Any university will be happy to provide detailed information on its particular course provision in the area and course tutors will be willing to explain the particular features of their courses to potential applicants.

While the public schools are preparing for increasing the tuition fees, a private educational institution of Kathmandu Valley, Samata Sikshya Niketan, has started its higher education programs for only NRs. 100 per month. Samata College, under the affiliation from Tribhuvan University, has started course offering of four-year management and three-year humanities stream. Samata College was officially inaugurated on Tuesday by Dr. Upendra Mahato, Anuradha Koirala and the famous comedian duo, Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya.

There are 50 students each enrolled in management and humanities stream for the first year. Coordinator of Samata Group, Uttam Sanjel also plans to open MBA under master’s program within a month. According to Sanjel, the only resource for school and college management comes from donation and crowd-sourcing. Chair of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN), Dr. Upendra Mahato has donated NRs. 36.5 m to Samata in last three years. Likewise, other donors have also contributed up to NRs. 20,000 to 500,000. Sanjel also quoted that the only mission of the school and college is to facilitate easy reach of education to the economically deprived.

The college is entirely built with bamboo and has state-of-the-art facility with 100 rooms. The cost of this sustainable structure came to be NRs. 7.5 m. Madan Krishna Shrestha open-heartedly appreciated the initiation and said that it is a great effort and also a matter of glory for our nation. Other private colleges charge a monthly fee of about NRs. 2,000 for management and humanities studies, but one can get the same quality education at Samata College for only NRs. 100 per month.

Samata Sikshya Niketan started its education 14 years ago from Jorpati in Kathmandu with 850 students, and now there are 38,000 pre-primary to secondary students at 19 different schools from 19 different districts around the country. Here’s a short video to know more about Samata School.
